Summer is for Smoothies! 5 Recipes to make this July

Hot days. Backyard hangouts. Pool time. Summer is in full swing and we couldn’t be happier. But it’s not just summertime… It’s smoothie time too! The perfect way to pack in all the goodness you need without standing over a hot stove. And a great way to stay cool when the temperatures soar.

Here are 5 of our favorite smoothie recipes that we make on repeat this time of the year. Each delivers a different range of ingredients (and of course, collagen goodness) while helping us on our way to consuming a “rainbow” of colors each day.

Momma said eat your greens, but we say drink them! This one is so simple to make and gets its sweetness from nutrition-packed dates. And with satiating coconut milk as its base, you can skip lunch and head straight back to the important business of hanging at the beach.

Blend all ingredients together then add the coconut once served.

Coffee and cauliflower? Who heard of such a thing?! Well, we’re here to tell you that it rocks. Because with this delicious recipe you get to indulge in your morning cold brew while also packing in some bonus nutrition before you’ve even got to breakfast. With frozen cauliflower, nut butter, banana and more, this is a practically a meal all in itself.

  • ¾ cup brewed coffee, chilled in fridge
  • 1 frozen medium ripe banana
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp nut butter
  • ¾ cup frozen cauliflower
  • ¼ cup almond or coconut milk
  • ½ tbsp cacao powder
  • 1 serving LonoLife Vanilla Collagen Peptides

Blend all ingredients together in a blender.

Get your cabana ready, because this smoothie will whisk your senses away to the tropics. With strawberries, mangoes, and pineapple, it’s a fruity sensation, but chia seeds, flaxseed milk, and collagen peptides also come along for the ride. Whether you drink it in the morning to kick your day off right or make it your poolside go-to, this one is a winner.

  • ¼ cup frozen strawberries
  • ¼ cup frozen mango
  • ¼ cup frozen pineapple
  • 1 serving LonoLife Unflavored Collagen Peptides
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • ½ tbsp agave nectar
  • ½ cup flax seed milk (can substitute nut milk)

Blend all ingredients together in blender. Add more milk if needed. Enjoy!

Milkshake. Smoothie. Smoothie. Milkshake. It’s all the same to us as long as it packs in a whole load of tasty nutrition and you can drink it. And this one checks all the boxes, including a serving of vegetables and some superfood spices. Boom!

  • 1 serving LonoLife Mocha Collagen Peptides
  • 1 tsp ghee or butter
  • 1 steamed then frozen zucchini
  • 1 tbsp cacao powder
  • Handful of ice
  • Water or nut milk to blend (add as needed)
  • Pinch of ginger, cardamom, cinnamon and sea salt to taste
  • 1 tsp spirulina

Blend all ingredients together then top with blueberries and a pinch of cinnamon.

Perhaps the simplest to make of all the smoothies on our list, this classic pina colada is an all-round crowd pleaser. Sweet and satisfying with a fruity punch, it also delivers 10 grams of protein thanks to a serving of our LonoLife collagen peptides.

  • 1 frozen banana
  • ½ cup almond milk
  • ½ cup frozen pineapple and strawberries
  • 1 serving LonoLife Coconut Pineapple Collagen Peptides

Combine all ingredients in blender until smooth. Enjoy!

While these are some of our go-to recipes, there really are few rules when it comes to smoothies. A good guide is to include a frozen banana, some frozen fruit, nut milk, and collagen peptides (for a protein boost) and you’ve got yourself a summer smoothie. Cheers!
