It’s a universal law of life: as the temperatures drop, our desire for warm, comforting, nutritious soup goes up. We’re pretty sure this is true whether you live in the farthest flung corners of our most northern states or spend your days here in sunny Southern California. With that in mind, this is the time of year we always get busy concocting delicious soup recipes packed with nutrition to take us through the colder months (along with all the aches and sniffles that tend to accompany them.)
Here are some of our faves below. Let us know if you end up making them at home!
GUT-HEALING SOUP
“All disease begins in the gut.” — Hippocrates.
The Father of medicine was right over 2000 years ago, and his insights stand strong today. In fact, there is an entire library of medical literature that points to the importance of gut health in overall health and wellbeing, yet most of our guts take a toil from stress, pollution, pesticides, food intolerances and so much more. We love this soup because a) it promotes gut-healing, and b) it’s ridiculously easy to make!
